Wild Things

Morning after the clocks go back or forward I always wake up very confused and this morning was not any different. I was very naughty though because I slept till about 11 am. I can't genuinely remember the last time I slept this late, specially since I have a very over active 3 year old who make it his mission to wake me up so early every morning even on my days off. So it was so nice I was able sleep a bit later than normal.

The weather was amazing today, a bit chilly but sunny for a change. Today's outfit is one of my favorites  It wasn't though when I first put it on. But after seeing the pictures I will probably wear this outfit more frequently. I bought this peplum top from Primark last summer. I'm not a big peplum fan, in fact I hate it but I bought this top because I love the leopard print and thought I'd try it out.I forgot all about it,until last week when I was going through my clothes to find something and came across the top still with the tags and the receipt:-)

Some times my wardrobe is like a little treasure hunt. I come across things I didn't even know I have. I'm not very proud of it though because its such a waste of money. But I'm so much better now and try to hang things out rather than just throw it in, so I can see what I have.( if I say so my self)

I don't normally buy fashion pieces from primark unless it's their Limited Collection. So I wasn't expecting much from this top. But I'm so impressed. The cut is perfect. I've got quite broad shoulders for my size 6 frame ( I used to be a swimmer) so I was very skeptical about wearing this cut but it wasn't too bad at all.

I used the belt because I like clean lines on my clothes. The belt kind of break the print and show the peplum feature more. The black wet look jeans go really well with the top but if you want a more casual look this top will look very good with white cropped jeans and nude or tan pumps as well.

I folded the hem of the jeans to make it look as if they are ankle length jeans because I wanted to balance the top length and the bottom length. If the jeans are too long I was worried that it ll look out of proportion, which I see a lot when wearing peplum tops. ( hate hate hate high wasted peplum tops n pencil skirt combos)

Kept jewellery to the minimum because the print is quite strong. I love the gold statement ring, its such a beauty. Used my leather bag as a clutch this time ( one of my many versatile items)

Being so fussy about proportions and balance, I wanted my feet and ankles out so these plain black heels were perfect.

Hope you all had a amazing Easter Sunday and getting ready for some bank holiday shopping!

Turn up the music

TGIF!! I'm glad to see the back of this week. Cold, miserable and wet. Not that it's going to get any better next week though.

Moving on to my outfit:-) Let me introduce you to my favorite Leather skirt! I absolutely love this skirt. I didn't want to jump on the bandwagon and buy a leather skirt for the sake of it because everyone s wearing it or because every blogger in the universe is blogging about them. I like to find statement pieces that's quite unusual and this skirt is exactly that. So I normally don't wear my skirts this short but hey! YOLO!

This leather skirt has got a uneven hem, which is why it look rather short from the front but it's longer from the back ( don't want to walk around with my bum cheeks out now do I?? ) It is quite a comfortable length though so you don't have to risk doing a Britney Spears or Paris Hilton:)

The zip detail on the front give it a edgier, more tougher look. The leather (obviously not real) is really soft and thin and feels really nice on the skin. It was a bit cold but it was so so nice to get my legs out for a change plus leather don't do too well with tights. And I thought its time I put my all year round tan to good use as well:-)

Paired the skirt up with a more softer top. I love lace but it has to be the right design because some lace designs tend to look a bit cheap. This top is perfect because it's so versatile, as you can wear it on a night out, casual or formal and I love that about clothes because you can really get your moneys worth rather than waiting for a special occasion to wear it.

I wore the shoes because the colour blend in with my skin so it makes my outfit stand out more (also make my legs look longer?) I use my leather bag because it pretty much goes with anything and I wanted to keep the outfit monochrome but you can really go crazy with the accessories.

Shoes - Dorothy Perkins (old)

Happy Easter and hope your all have a lovely long weekend!

What do you think about the leather skirt? Do you think there are better ways to style this skirt? I would love to hear your thoughts.

Coral Power

Today's outfit is nothing special but a very basic combo and a look. I'm obsessed with anything coral for some reason these days. Ok! not obsessed but I always manage to like or buy something coral recently.

We all have days that we can't be bothered making an effort. I think this outfit is perfect for those days. It's bright enough to make it look as if you have bothered but so easy to wear. This cable knit jumper is one of my favorites for many reasons, I like the fact that it's not a all over cable knit. It's more like the cable knit is a feature that runs through one side of the jumper and sleeves. So it doesn't look so heavy, even though it's super cosy and warm. The color is so refreshing as well because most people have gone back to wearing their dark woolly jumpers because of the extreme weather change .

I added this spike necklace and my battered biker boots to give the outfit a more tougher grungy look. Adding a statement necklace is another little trick I do when I don't want to dress up or don't have time to pull a outfit together. Statement necklaces give any outfit that extra bit of 'oomph'.

I don't know whether I managed to pull it together though but it was so comfy and kept me very very warm. Of course you can style the jumper differently. I would love to wear this with flat nude pumps or black heels when it's a bit warmer outside. You can even do a shirt & jumper combo.

Big thank you to my lovely Hannah for taking these pictures after work:) Being the perfectionist she is she obviously was not happy with the pictures, because we had to use my phone and WORK as the background.(I had to blur some of the backgrounds due naked mannequins and fire escape exits ha!)

Hope you are all having a good week and let's hope the weather gets better and we can all parade around in out flip flops and shorts soon:)

Cozy Cardi day

The weather s been crazy. Snowing nonstop, don't think I have ever seen it snow like this!
I was very lucky though as I've had 4 days off work so been in doors and done the minimum amount of travelling.

So the outfit today is very weather appropriate. Like I said on my last blog I am fed up of complaining about this weather so I'm trying to find better ways to layer my clothes rather than wearing chunky heavy knits all the time. I already started taking out my summer clothes from the back of my wardrobe before the weather went crazy. So it's been great trying to mix my summer bits with winter clothes.

I'm a massive fan of earthy colors. I wear these sort of colors on a regular basis and introduce bright colors every now and then to break away from the habit of wearing the same sort of colors all the time.
The pictures are not that great. I was busy whole of last week organizing a very special birthday party, which is why I haven't been blogging frequently last week. So come Saturday which is when I took these pictures I was exhausted and you can really see it in the pictures:(  Plus it was snowing very heavily so I had to take the pictures inside and I'm not 100% happy with the lighting.

So moving on to the outfit, I don't normally dress up my cardigan's. I like to put it over my long sleeve t-shirts or dresses. Cardigan's are my safe blanket if I cant be bothered. I own cardigan's in every possible color you can think of, both summer and winter. This Zara cardigan is on the bottom of my favorite list because it's a cotton mix and I like them 100% cotton as they wash well and good for the skin. Try to always get everyday items you wear that's 100% cotton or at least 95% cotton mix because it helps your skin breath and is less likely to irritate skin. I'm weird like that so I always look at what the fabric is made of.

The snake print top I have underneath is one of my favorite top's. It's a light see through fabric. The pussy bow detail is a bit out dated but I think it's a great feature for this outfit.  I initially wanted to just wear the top with these waxed jeans from H&M. But seeing as it was about -4 degrees I decided to put the cardigan over it and use a belt to gather the front. Think my favorite M&S boots and bag pull the outfit together. It also helped that the bag, belt and boots blend in rather than pop out. I stayed very warm and it was super cosy too.

I want to add a couple of things about these waxed H&M jeans though. I bought them last year and they are still as good. Because I've worn them so much the the shine is less visible but I'm thinking of buying some fabric wax to try and wax it my self. Only because before I found these I looked every where for the right shine. I didn't want too shiny. I almost wanted like a leather shine. The once I found were either too expensive or the fit was just not right. These H&M jeans were only £29.99 and they are a very light weight soft denim, which is great.

Let it snow

Ok! So I'm very tired of complaining about this ever changing weather. Every morning I wake up and look at the weather forecast before deciding what to wear, which I'm starting to hate because I like to plan my outfits and decide what I'm going to wear in advance. To be honest my winter clothes are battered and desperately in need of refreshing or replacing. So today's outfit was mainly put together out of frustration.

So I know what you'r all thinking. It's snowing, windy, -2 outside and I'v got my toes out! Apart from taking these pictures and getting in to and out of the car I was safely indoors. I am sensible :)
I have been after a mustard top for absolutely ages but never been able to find the right color I wanted until I spotted this top. I love my cropped floral printed skinny's. Bought these for summer because I love the light floral print on them. The print on the jeans are very subtle, not so in-your-face like other printed jeans.
I'm obsessed with anything cobalt blue. I decided to use the blue clutch and shoes because mustard and cobalt blue together bring out the best in both colors. Love how the clutch and the shoes just pop out against mustard.
Again I didn't use much accessories. Just piled on some gold and silver rings and I'm good to go!

Love me for a reason

Hi all! Hope all is well. I have had a very busy couple of days. Work is never ending and stressful, by the time I get home all I want to do is have a bath, curl up in bed and sleep.

However I did make some time to go around shops and have a look. Because most places start getting new collections around this time. That way it's guaranteed I get all the best bits before weekend madness. I love shopping during the week after work because its less busy and very peaceful in away. No impatient shoppers, no screaming kids, no queues at the till points or fitting rooms and your sure to get some proper help from store staff.

One thing I noticed was the amount of gorgeous statement jewellery available everywhere. I have never been a massive accessory fan because I like to keep things simple. But I'v been converted! I was spoilt for choice. Zara as always was a knock out! Their statement pieces get better by collection, from neon crazy to tribal bling!

Has anyone seen Dorothy Perkins limited edition jewellery?? Pastel heaven!!! They are in stores this week so make sure to have a look. I'm so impressed!!
However Topshop was a massive let down, their jewellery to me is too grunge'y' looking. (I'm not a big Topshop fan anyway). People always think I'm crazy when I say that but they just don't rock my world as much as they used to.

So I did purchase a lovely Zara necklace which I fell in love with instantly (you will see it on the blog soon) I did take some pictures of some of the really pretty necklaces I came across. The quality of the pictures not so great because I had to use my phone and do it very low key, didn't want to get told off by security guards or store staff because some stores are quite scared of people stealing ideas and brand image and all that.

Do you like statement jewellery? What's your favourite place to shop for them?

Enjoy the rest of the week! :-)

Layer up

I have been feeling very uninspired lately. Don't know whether it's the fact that the weather has been unpredictable or I have been too tired to even put an outfit together. I took couple of outfit pictures but I'm not very happy with them so didn't really want to blog about them.

I thought I'd share this outfit because I was in a rush and just threw this together. The monochrome top is one of my last years summer favorites.

The skater skirt and the shirt underneath was the outfit I was planning on wearing and came across the monochrome top while looking for something else. It was like meeting an old friend that you haven't seen for awhile, so I took it out and just put it on top of the shirt just for the fun of it and added a belt because it was both quite loose fitted. I liked what I saw so I wore it out. I must admit I did feel a bit silly but couple of people said they loved it. It's kind of like a 'preppy grown up look'. What make this outfit work is because both top's are the same light weight fabric, so there is no clashing textures. I have also stuck to plain ankle boots and no jewellery at all. Matched the collar detail on the shirt to the detail on my handbag which to me pulled the overall look together.

I do apologize for the pictures. The weather was pants and it was starting to hail and my photographer/husband was complaining about me dragging him in such horrible weather conditions.

What do you think about this outfit?? Epic fail or have I managed to pull it off?

Hope your all having a good weekend! Apart from the horrible weather of course.

Tribal Extreme

I try to post at least once in every two days but I've been crazy busy past couple of days so this post is a day overdue. Am I the only one getting fed up of waiting for spring?? Want to push winter boots, coats and heavy jumpers out of my wardrobe and take my maxi skirts, shorts and dresses out.

Was rummaging through my clothes to find something to wear and found this beauty hiding away. The embroidery on the skirt is to die for. I love the tribal/aztec design .

At first glance you would want to glam it up and wear it on a night out right??
For me sky is the limit with this skirt. Dress it up or down, glam it up or go casual.
I teamed it up with this denim shirt because its the last piece of clothing item you'd think to wear this skirt with. I don't normally wear red lipstick during the day but last time I wore it I got so many compliments so why not? I'm matching my lipstick and my Primark satchel to the red thread detail that runs on my skirt. For a more casual look you can just leave the shirt out without tucking it in. I tucked it in so you can see the two zip's on the front. All the more reasons to love this skirt. I'm not a big accessory fan so like always I've kept it simple. Used the necklace to kinda match the shapes on the skirt and for a edgier look. My M&S Limited Edition ankle boots saved the day again. I've worn these boots throughout winter and will definitely miss them come summer. I don't know why I didn't wear this skirt before because I'm totally in love with it. You will probably see it making an appearance on my blog at least on a weekly basis.
